One of the rising talents in the football world is the former PSV winger Noni Madueke. Madueke recently signed for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Chelsea confirmed the signing of Madueke on the 20th of January 2023 on a seven-and-a-half-year contract, with the transfer fee reported to be €33 million (£28.5 million)
Chukwunonso Tristan Noni Madueke was born on the 10th of March 2002. Though he was born in London, he is of Nigerian Igbo descent. He started his early career in England. Having played for Crystal Palace and Tottenham, Noni Madueke moved to PSV in June 2018. However, the English professional footballer didn't make his professional debut until the 26th of August 2019 for Jong PSV.
His debut for the senior team came in the early months of 2020. Madueke's first full season with PSV's first team was during the 2020-21 season, where he scored on his first start for the club. Noni Madueke's two goals against Ajax helped PSV secure the Johan Cruyff Shield in a 4-0 win, and he ended the season with seven League goals, with a total of nine goals and eight assists in all competition.
The season could be regarded as his breakout campaign, which led to him signing a new contract after the season. Madueke's outstanding performance also gave him the number 10 jersey at a young age. He was able to replicate the same number of goals the season after but hasn't had the best of starts in the 2022-23 season in terms of stats and has scored two so far this season before Chelsea came knocking at the door.
Madueke plays with his left foot, which is his strongest, and he loves cutting inside from the right flank. He's known for his strong dribbling ability, which makes him a nightmare for defenders coming against him. Noni Madueke is known not only for his fantastic dribbling ability but also for his passes. His great vision of the ball and ability to beat defenders repeatedly makes him very unpredictable.
PSV's former manager singled out Madueke's ability to read games and situations by being in the right position in the right place.
Another distinctive feature of Madueke is his headband. Noni Madueke has built his identity on the football pitch with his black headband. The headband keeps his hair from interfering with his game, and he's usually found in a black headband.
After the change in ownership of Chelsea football club, the Blues have been scouting and securing the signing of top talents worldwide. The outstanding performance of the 20-year-old didn't go unnoticed by the Chelsea scouts, and they secured the signing of Noni Madueke on the 20th of January 2023.
He made his Chelsea debut in a goalless draw with Fulham as a second-half substitute for Mykhailo Mudryk. Though he is yet to make a senior international debut with England, he has had outstanding performances with the youth ranks of the England national team. He looks set to developing into one of the best players in the world with his versatility, power, and direct style of play.
